Yes. We will be discontinuing service at the end of March. Our last delivery day will be Tuesday, March 29th. (We will still coordinate several collection routes after that time.) Until that point, we will be offering limited menus as we work to reduce our inventory of ingredients. Please let anyone know who may have gift certificates to use, to order before this time.
Last month, we had a family emergency. As is often the case when things like this come up, it’s a reminder to keep perspective on what is important to us. Just keeping up with the day-to-day of Kendal’s Kitchen leaves me with little time with family and not a moment to think past what needs to get done immediately. Our teens are getting older and we want to make the most out of the short time that we have remaining with them at home. I’ve decided to take some time out to consider how I might be able to create a more sustainable version needed to continue.
For those of you who’ve been using our service since the early days, I appreciate your support over the years. I can’t thank you enough. You have seen me through massive life changes and growth.
I started everything as a single mom with a tiny budget, but with strong vision, cleverness, time and abundant energy. The following five years have been so full! Wow. In addition to the crash course in owning and operating a successful business, I met my husband, got married, and gained 2 step-teens to add to my own.
Meal delivery is becoming a huge thing right now and Kendal’s Kitchen is growing in popularity rapidly. It may seem crazy to be asserting a pause amidst such demand; however, quality comes from a place of fullness. Though I am proud to have come this far with how I began, I have reached my limit of “bootstrapping it.”
I love what I do. Serving you and helping you stay healthy and well-fed with your work-life balance is so important to me. Nevertheless, it has become clear that I must take my own medicine and do what’s necessary to nurture my own balance and family.
Though our closure at this point is indefinite, should there be a Kendal’s Kitchen 2.0, I would love to be able to contact you and have the chance to “woo” you once more!
Stay tuned for developments and please join our mailing list (respectfully few emails sent).
